Where did he claim this? PM? Not sure why Marco would vouch for him, and if he was surely he could just lend a big chunk of the money to him? According to Marco's thread there seems to be two active loans for slightly over 1btc but the repayment dates seem to have long passed so not sure if they're still relevant:

It is difficult to know if the OP has repaid the loans he took out because of such heavy reuse of his address.
