Every single crypto CFC/ICO that has raised over 800BTC has performed either the marketing scam or the bubble scam. They basically give away coins to news outlets, give coins to conference managers so they can speak at conferences, sell coins for cheap to insiders and/or take out loans with high interest.

If you look at every single big CFC you will notice a substantial premine that isn't part of the CFC.

Ethereum 12%
Factom 50%
Augur 18%
GEMZ 20%

I commend syntax for not going the route described above. It's too bad that the top news magazines refuse to support good projects like this just because they won't pay for articles.

Stay strong. The good honest people will win in the end.

yes.. it also lets them have some of their own coins (a significant amount of them) without costing them anything, and if the 'value' goes up they can sell them easily as well...

you are right about the """""""""""""""""""""""""news""""""""""""""""""""""""" sites tho, crypto """""""""""""""""""""""""news""""""""""""""""""""""""" is a huge joke, tho news shoudn't even be the word for any of what trash they publish, since its nearly always under researched (or better yet not researched at all) or op ed under the guise of a news story, and usually for money (i'm sure everyone remembers the whole gaw bullshit)

The projects listed above aren't ICOs and should be more correctly called ICOP2COSs aka "Initial Coin Offering Private Limited, 2nd Coin Offing Public Sell" aka "the bubble scam" .

These initial premines of free money can be seen as a "golden parachute". At any point the holders of these coins can sell at a profit. No matter what they win. They also receive development salaries.

This R3D is a great project and is indeed a true ICO. It's a "100% Initial Coin Offering" available to the public.

Due to a lack of creditable NEWS resources in the crypto world this project was unable to raise funds. Big investors need to learn a bit more about the new way of investing. Their old centralized private investing style is not going to work with crypto and will only create a bubble if people are stupid about investing.

BTW... I also think the anonymity of the devs hurt the project as well. If you want 800 BTC you have to be doing interviews and getting out there. 50 BTC raised just from a bitcointalk thread is pretty amazing.
