yeah this is strange but happens to me too. Each time I sell my bitcoins later I see some rise in price and I always think would have good to wait for little more. Why price goes up always after selling.
yeah pretty strange. when we hold and do not sell, sometimes bitcoin prices further down and no price increases, but the rise in prices that always come when we've sold bitcoin
I'm inclined to attribute it to
confirmation bias!
More helpfully, since the OP was exchanging - rather than trading - and the need for the exchange was known in advance then the transaction could have been "hedged" - the OP
could have used options to insure against a rise (and/or a fall) in price. (As far as I know, right now this is only possible with BTC/USD, which may not be useful to the OP).
There's a poster on Bitcointalk who sells options OTC (
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=223626.0) and one exchange (
http://www.coinut.com) with another opening this month (
http://www.quedex.com). The latter exchange looks like it's going to offer USD and CNY in addition to BTC/USD.
