Atheism is considered idolatry because you don't believe in G-d but you believe in an idol (2nd commandement).

The Bible doesn't talk about the fruit being given to Adam or Eve. It talks about Eve taking it, presumably from the tree.
If you have something something was given to you: you are not G-d, you cannot create anything.
