If I based anything on wishes than I would wish eternal life to be real, don't you think?
Like you I don't like to know I will die. The difference comes on how we accept that fact.

You DON'T know that you are going to die. Just because there are a lot of dead people who were once alive, there are still loads of people alive who haven't died. So how do you know that you will die?

Breakthroughs in science and medicine are happening all the time. You don't know the future, because if you did... you can remember all kinds of mistakes that you have made in your life that you wouldn't have made if you knew the future. So, how do you know that you are going to die?

Further, there are many people that saw an accident coming, and they just knew they were going to die, but they survived, some without injury. Even if you commit suicide, you don't know for a fact that you are going to die. You might have a strong feeling about it. But you don't know it for a fact.

The only time you can know for a fact that you are going to die is after the fact. But you can't know it then, because you don't know anything then, right?

To express more clearly BADecker's thought: the Bible teaches that once you know you will die for sure ("the Genesis episode").

So if you don't know you are sure you won't die.

That's why knowledge is a dangerous weapon.

None of us lived back then. So, how can we know that Genesis applies to us?
