Yes, you can control several monarch with only one raspberry (as you put as many hub's you want, with a limit). I don't know what are you saying with .img, i don't understand... I was working with a new raspbian instalation, and only installed the cgminer 4.9.1 and "screen"
btw, theese miners are sold, i only have a 410Gh/s monarch right now...
