Perhaps we will get there... perhaps.
Consider. There was a Tree of Life in the Garden, as well. God kicked mankind out of the Garden so that people would NOT eat of the tree of life and live forever. A long time later God sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross, and rise again, so that people who believe in Jesus can have eternal life. If God wanted people to have eternal life, why didn't He simply let them eat of the Tree of Life in the Garden? Why did He put His Blessed Son through all that trouble of dying on the cross to save mankind?
There is more to life and eternal life than the researchers will find out, even if they make people to live for a thousand years twice over.
I was not discussing the Ethical side of the technological advancement.

I'm not talking about the ethical side either. God made everything. He made all the things that science is calling science. God is full of fantastically great science. Even life science has more to it than simply being alive... even forever.
