I have never been asked SSN or tax id either for any miner. On the bitmain psu they shipped it at a lower weight then it was, I had to write UPS a check for that. But I cant see what SSN would have to do with miner shipment.
If the value of the shipment exceeds a certain amount ($2500 I think? I can't recall) there's is some customs paperwork needed. Among other things they want importer's ID, e.g. SSN or FEIN.
That's good to know. I have 4 on order so I will cross that limit.
