Right now, Bitcoin is very unstable so it would probably take another 4-5 years to really see an impact on it. Maybe the next year would be better, but nobody knows if it will be because crypto is unpredictable. Only time will tell if Bitcoin's price would reach $1000 and mainstream adoption 
What you are saying is correct but I think that in the year 2016 the prices would atleast go bit higher as compared to 2015 mainly depends on the adoption level and the demand of bitcoins, if the adoption level is higher prices would be higher and much more stable, and that is time we all are waiting for, the day bitcoins hits the mainstream the prices would be more stable.
And probably the main reason of Bitcoin's price instability would be the surge of new alt coins like Ethereum which is mostly hype. But then I could be wrong. Anyhow, I hope to see something good when the next halving comes in. I also which that the block size issue would be resolved but that's not up to me.
