I think that an appeal to the public is the right approach, the Core developers are not and should not be the rulers of Bitcoin.
Which suggests that the public should be consulted about any and all changes to the code, which makes the development team redundant. It's your inability to comprehend such basics of observable reality that make you look like a shill (as well as making the outcome of every post exchange "...and the answer appears to be BIP101.")
That is not what I am saying, with appeal to the public I mean releasing an alternative client implementation and allowing the public or in this case the economic majority to freely adopt or not adopt the new client implementation.
