I just got a couple of black blades (D25359H).

They arrived as just the board with no heatsink blocks.

Can these be run without a heatsink attached?

I suspect that it would be dangerous to do so for a prolonged time without one, so if I get a large heatsink block, do I attached it the rear side of the board without the chips, using heatsink compound and some tight screws directly onto the board?
