Is it time to draft anonymint into the xmr dev team as a consultant? Can someone explain what this is about?

First off this is the wrong thread for this, second let him do his own thing. He doesn't work well with others.

He has given some good advice though, perhaps there is a workaround :-)

Actually, it looks like he is, once again, seeing daemons where there are none.

Noble Sir:
Dear tbt needs var, I believe you are mistaken- the key point is that the sum of inputs equals the sum of the outputs- there is no difference here from standard ct, except I sign for the commitment, rather than show the difference is zero. also if you search this repository you will see the block hash of the third version of the original writeup (Mrl_notes) for this protocol is from june 7, the new content here is the anonymity proof.

Noble Sir:
Ahh - I think I (possibly) see where you are misunderstanding. The "a" value is fixed by previous transaction (for the inputs)
Btw: if you are going to claim to have already invented someones protocol / and to have found it broken, ettiquette would suggest that you at least take the time to understand the basics of the protocol first (maybe start with gmaxwells CT paper), before declaring these things.

Noble Sir:
It should be clear that a destination / amount pair is replaced by a destination / commitment pair- there is no need to do anything nontrivial to lock commitment to destination address. It works the same as usual Monero/ any other cryptocurrency except that amounts are replaced by commitments.

I'm sure you guys remember what happened when BCX threatened to kill monero.
