Bitcoin is the best for sure.

About altcoins, I see that dogecoin/Litecoin fits with the faucets lovers in which you can earn a few pennies plus it has a larger community.
The others most of them just appears then disappears in few weeks/months...
I think it is better to have for the moment few altcoins than hundreds without a real weight.
