Well, if you did payouts of 5% for the last few days (from your own funds), you would have earned it all back right now in new investments.
Most other games have a backup for this for a slow day. But reneging on the deal you made of 5% daily payouts is what ultimately killed the game.
As investors no longer can trust the game or you, they don't reinvest.
