I was going through them, but they didn't exactly instill a huge feeling of confidence in me about getting money out of Alpha. There was limited success with other clients, going straight to the bank for refunds, before they moved their money out of it. Now it appears the only recourse most people have is to either call Akram to court to give an accounting of his assets and their whereabouts (expensive) or start a winding-up petition and force Akram to settle or have his business shut down (also expensive).

This is a perfect example of why the UK needs to get its act together and create laws to support class actions. It's just prohibitively expensive for individuals to pursue justice, even when it's ABUNDANTLY clear that the company is in the wrong and its leadership is corrupt.
