I think it's because of the fucked up withdrawal situation on cryptsy. They have a bank run going on and it's put a serious damper on people depositing into cryptsy. This translates into thinner order books and someone dumping a few 100k sprouts can tank the price violently under these conditions.

Correct and that person I heard was blundertoe... though I heard someone state it in cryptsy chat box around 400k worth but don't quote me on that its only what I "saw" in chat box not necessarily truth.

As above put your coin application in for poloniex or forever be held to these issues when cryptsy has a problem. Need more than 1 major exchange. If cryptsy dies tomorrow then you are effectively "fucked".
