I think the light source is kind of behind the object.. the logo is in the slight shadow... just like on my avatar lol

I suspect your monitor
It looks slightly dark on cryptsy compared to the full size image, but it looks good. Didn't look grey at all to my old eyes. Very nice logo, and I was a fan of the old one.
