May I offer a solution that I see from magicaldice at the moment?
They halted any new posts and are counting right now. They pay those posts with the old rate and once that has been handled, the new period starts with the new rate.
I understand funds are scarce, but people have been posting four days with the impression of earning a specific amount, and that is now suddenly changed.
It was unavoidable to change the rates, but current way is not the way to do it.

No pal. You are capable of making your own decision and to take responsibility for your actions. As a manager you act as middle ground between OP and participants, and you should act fairly to both.
Reducing rates for posts already made is nothing but a fraud.
You're responsible for maintaining spreadsheet and it's up to you whether you put correct, agreed rates (0.0014 for Heroes) or whether you want to be a part of the fraud.
Can you imagine reversed situation, when BTC price goes down and participants demand higher rates?
