Perhaps we should run with the Roman or Gnostic theme. Still a bit esoteric, but less geeky than units of time.

IMHO time and money goes well together. anyone remember "time is money"?
it may even fit better than "energy is money" because for people usually time is more important.

Gnosticism: i dislike the linkage to any kind of god or religion
deity: has some kind of time reference but still seems to be linked to religion (and the spelling is wrong)
