I hope that you understand what are you getting into here. I also hope that you understand that if you don't have a free electricity or nearly free electricity you will just lose money as a lone miner and even if your electricity is nearly free, you might take a while to ROI!
Also you need to think about space to put your miners in, colling, etc!
I don't kno if it's fair to say if you don't have free electricity you will lose money. I have bought and ROI'ed over many different machines in the past, and I have decent electricity nos steal.
But you really cannot make generalizations with one size fits all comments when it comes to miners. Also with winter coming up or her for some mining is easier for a lot of home miners.
