I now own one bitcoin in my coinbase wallet. It feels good. I am not sure why it feels so good but it does. I have a good feeling about Bitcoin. I am already up 20 euro after today. What could possibly go wrong. 
It's Coinbase that owns your 1 BTC.
No different than how a bank holds one's money...but at least his money isn't in a depreciating fiat currency!

Niallo27 here's an exercise for you: follow the trail of "your" BTC and see if your wallet is full or empty. Then tell us that's empty.
You should learn how to safely store your coins.
