A buddy of mine informed me that dc adapters aren't standardized, etc etc, so they could potentially mess up the bASIC.

Cablepair, will you be including an appropriately matched dc adapter? If not, can you provide a link to purchase one which is guaranteed to work appropriately with the bASIC?

yes dc adapters come in all shapes and sizes - the barrel jack connector we are using is about the most common size available - as far as I know you just need 12v but I will make sure the engineers give me exact specs of the ideal adapter - but when in doubt use molex.

If you run out of molex connectors on your PSU you can always use the sata to molex adapter we sell on our website.

Thanks for your reply. I'd use molex but I'm going to try to host the bASIC on an RPI, so I won't have a PSU nearby.
My friend was referring to "wrong polarity / wrong voltage / wrong whatever else" as being a potential danger, rather than the actual physical connector shape/size.
