What's the best BitCoin miner these days? I live in California, so electricity isn't cheap.
I was thinking of getting this one because it's easy to acquire:
1. GekkoScience Compac USB Stick Bitcoin Miner 8gh/s+ (BM1384)
2. Bitmain AntMiner U3 Bitcoin Miner Version 2
Thoughts?

I wouldn't go for the U3. It's known to be unstable...
I'm running a GekkoScience Compac myself, and it's a really fun device. Do be carefull, it runs at a little over 10Ghs/s at my place, so it's not the same as an S7, witch gives you almost 5 Th/s.
With this, i mean that with a stickminer, you'll only mine a couple thousand satoshi's a day... If you buy an S7, you can actually make some real coins
