There was a big bagholder that wanted out so that drove price down. There are some advantages to current low price :

* better distribution of Dash
* more masternodes could be setup, which leads to a stronger network
* less pressure on dev-team so they can focuss all their attention on getting the prototype design finished for the upcoming
North America Bitcoin Conference 21 & 22 january 2016 which could bring Dash a lot of attention.
