Not too shabby considering one of his chips is wonky and X's out after about 10 minutes.

Try powering it off for 5 minutes and then firing it up again.  Sometimes I get an X and this always has cleared it up.

... try 2 switch down the timer one step (wt cold restart)

Clock settings nor resetting work on Sparky. He just has a bad chip. I've run the gammit on repair options, even re-applying thermal paste to his heat sinks. He just refuses to fire that one chip up for more than a few minutes. I've learned to live with it.

Just joined in on the solo mining with this setup, 6x S3+ runnning at frequency 231.25. Check out the picture.  Plan on keeping this going for a bit to see what i get.  With pool mining I have been averaging aroung 6$ a day worth of bitcoins at the current exchange rate.

Nice hashrate! You've got a much better chance than me of hitting a block. Just don't give up!

just read all of this and well done Smiley

Im gonna point my 2 x s1 at ckpool

Quick question the username is my btc addy can i put the same addy for 2 of my s1 or do i need to add a .etc or _etc afte my address or use 1 for the two

cheers guys

You can use 1 for the two. The "sprinkling" of additional data each miner puts in to generate different hashes keeps them from working on the same results. Good luck!

Hi Folks,

I stopped my nearly brandnew S3+ miners at BTC passing 400US$ (S1 -> S3 selfmade Upgrade),
though I have 2 pay high energy fees.

With the winter comming in, it got reactivated,
and the better one (~478GHs) is participating in this S3 Solo game (the other @nicehash).

... after 16 days, I got a respectable best share,

{"hashrate1m": "338G", "hashrate5m": "434G", "hashrate1hr": "447G", "hashrate1d": "460G", "hashrate7d": "433G", "lastupdate": 1449149542, "workers": 1, "shares": 178751257, "bestshare": 749187554.6695118, "bestever": 749187554}

but no goal yet.

... I will keep it running for about 120 days.

P.S. I do not believe, it us useful to permanently reboot the miner - strong wishes do not provide good luck ^^

Cool, keep us updated Smiley I'd love to see you find a block, since I'm also going to attempt solo mining once I get my S3.
I think 120 days is cutting it a bit short though.. Just my opinion.

Yes, 120 days is very short. You wouldn't try to catch a fish with only 15 minutes of fishing! Smiley When is your S3 coming in EternalGloom?

Anyone,

it would help if anyone can help me step by step on how to start a solo mining pool??

Windows if possible but if it ubuntu i dont mind setting it up... i have '0' knowledge about ubuntu.

downloading ubuntu-14.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso

I've got a self hosted pool all set up on Ubuntu as a virtual machine here - I'll be posting another upgrade to it this week though so you might hold off if you go that route.

Once you fire it up and configure it you just have to point your miners to it and off it goes.

Update: Sparkys best share is - 408,491,826
