What are candles going to do for you in a zombie apocalypse? You'll need a good sword with sharpening stones. Also armor is a good idea. 
Trading candels for food is a good idea 
. You can choose to kill everyone and plunder their food but you wont make it long i guess. Maybe i should get some guns for people who are trying to enter my property. If they do that. I kill them all.
