I use Multibit Classic and I am satisfied with what offers as well as ease of use.I do not hear much of a positive opinion on MultiBit HD so at the moment I do not plan to switch to a new wallet but I will certainly explore some new options 
You are right, don't use MultiBit HD it's worse. Better to keep using MultiBit Classis, you will regret if you change it.Better always go with blockchain This is whats known as a hybrid wallet meaning the company stores your wallet online but they do not have access to your private keys. However since the wallet is loaded from their servers some trust in the company is still needed.I will Recommend for beginners who are trying out Bitcoin
