Did they have given any proof to show that their fund in cold storage has been theft, how that can occur ? Smells fishy
That's a well known scenario. Sounds like typical 'exit strategy' for troubled exchanges. It's actually pretty convenient to close the business because of 'oops, we got hacked, no money for you - blame the hacker', rather than sorting out all the issues and pay back all the creditors.
