Hacked, Attacked,
For sure, these are complete different things, sorry. Smiley

(if we believe the story) cryptsy was hacked and private keys were stolen so the hacker could steal cryptocurrency
Monero was attacked resulting in a fork. No currency was stolen, the network forked.

that's a big difference

Also, if you want to know the details:
the attacker found a small bug in the new 0.9 release that made it possible to create v2 blocks before the network was scheduled to do the planned hardfork.

If we compare this to how DASH handles hardforks: DASH has a system called "sporking" that enables Evan (or the full dev team, no idea?) to just fork the network. And everybody will switch automatically.
So if Evan is hacked, it's possible that the DASH network hardforks. It's even possible that the attacker puts some malicious code on the network and is able to actually steal funds if he's clever. In that case we can say that DASH is hacked, not just attacked.

So get your terminology straight. Monero can't be hacked, only attacked.
