The problem with Gavin is some people thinks he is on government/CIA payroll. Also he is part of scandalous Bitcoin Foundation which discredited itself many times in the past.If he doesn't want to be the leader, I can be the leader.

Haern is partially right that this is problem with the community and it will be hard to achieve good consensus. I am afraid that lack of understanding will be the end of bitcoin, not government or regulations.
