Hi Smiley
So it's a blake 256 8 round

No. It's Blake256 14-rounds with (obviously) some modified headers.

The closest miner for this algo for AMD is here: https://github.com/nicehash/cgminer-blake256r14/releases/tag/3.7.2-nicehash and the closest miner for NVIDIA is here: https://github.com/tpruvot/ccminer/releases/tag/1.7.0-tpruvot ... However, you can test these miners only to get a raw speed estimation of your rigs, because the final version of mining software will obviously be slight different and none of the existing mining software will be compatible with Decred.

So I assume that the Dev will be releasing the necessary mining software with the needed modification then? Just trying to figure out how in the hell I'm supposed to mine with no mining software......

I believe the info you are looking for was repeated ITT just yesterday.

ITT ? In Tremendous Treasureness ?

EDIT: aaah, thanks google.. "In This Thread" Wink

Hell I'm old and senile and even I knew what it meant. Grin

I did dig out this Tremendous Treasure from yesterday.  Hey socal are you listening? Cool  Is that the poker socal?

So many questions regarding mining, supported miners, etc. and still no clarification. After all, this is a POW + POS currency, therefore mining should be well covered. Not good.

This has been stated earlier in the thread, but the miner is a fork of an older version of cgminer with a rewritten kernel. It has been built for both AMD and NVIDIA cards, but it is likely that an optimized miner for NVIDIA cards will take a little finesse and a fork of ccminer. Testnet and miner binaries, alongside miner specifications will be released one week prior to the launch of mainnet. This is done in an effort to not produce mining information in all kinds of different ways across different platforms and to keep the process as fair as possible for everyone. The same information will be released to everyone in the same way. The focus right now is to get through the airdrop process and get that sorted for all the participants. Once that is done, the focus will shift toward the aforementioned binaries for testing and mining - which will then receive priority attention.

Got it thanks, also maybe? lol which poker are you referring to? I use the "socal" handle across most things that require a username, but every once in awhile somebody beats me to the punch...
