3 technically is against the rules because the good traded must be legal in the buyer and seller's jurisdictions, and I think trade stolen and hacked things is illegal everywhere.

And I would write: don't ask for loan without collateral if you are not a trusted member, specially if you are a newbie

Added that in the loans without collateral line. Thanks Smiley

As for 3, you're right, although I believe it is upto to the moderators if they interpret the stuff being sold/bought is illegal or not and same way some DT members consider some stuff being sold was acquired wrongfully and they leave negatives for that, so I'll leave it there as a suggestion that if you're selling something which you can't provide proof for that it was acquired rightfully, you may get negative feedback from a DT member.

Don't attempt to farm or buy trust.

Added at 9. Thanks Smiley

Or give trust for cheap, if you are from default trust list

Added at 10. Thanks Smiley

Responding here so I can have this thread handy for future reference. Especially for ponzi promoters. Most of this falls under the "Don't be a dick" rules anyway.  Wink

Yeah, it might help newbies and other members who don't understand why were they given negatives. Thanks Smiley

Maybe "forum etiquette" would be a better term for this.

Might be good way to call it. Although, I am just adding things which may prevent users from getting negative feedback. A lot of forum etiquette are already covered by mods here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 but will add something about it in the OP at the bottom.

Thanks Smiley

I would like to add one for #8 which is not included in the unofficial rules thread but it's forbidden: 8. Don't hijack thread for the sake of whatever you would like to promote in someone's else thread.
I see a lot of those posts specially in service section.

Added below in forum etiquette as I haven't seen anyone been given negative for hijacking a thread and if someone overdoes it or posts off topic replies then they can be reported and moderators will remove them. Thanks Smiley

I can't recall if it's against the forum rules explicitly, but it's definitely frowned upon to post crap like "+1" and other one word replies to things, especially if you're in a sig campaign.  Shitposting.
I think those are covered under rule 1 of the forum rules:
Quote
1. No zero or low value, pointless or uninteresting posts or threads. [1]
--
1. Such posts like "SELL SELL SELL", "I agree", "+1", "Support", "Watching", "Interesting", "LOL", "SCAM", "LEGIT", "FAKE", other one word posts, posts consisting mostly of swearing, quote pyramids, useless introduction threads, threads about a topic already recently discussed in several other threads.
Sorry sorry sorry!!!  I just got home from work and was too lazy to actually find where the rules are and look at them.  Thank you, I appreciate that and I mean it.  This is actually one of the things I like about bitcointalk--I'm a member at a few other forums, and the amount of crap posts is staggering.  Sometimes you can scroll through many pages of just quote pyramids and just emoticons and it's just ridiculous.

Yes, that is mods area and they're fabulous at it. But thanks for your suggestion anyway. Smiley
