Rust is a program language. The Maidsafe Dev-team works in so called "sprints" where they focus on delivering results, debugging etc.
Rust 5 is sprint number 5. At the end of this sprint we should have installers to connect to and start the global Safenetwork.

The only thing I could find is that it might be using RSA 4096 bit encryption.
Different ones. AES will be there as well. Here's
the whitepaper for Self_Encryption. But that one might be different from the PKI.
