Evil to survive, it cannot do evil without tempting the good people to the dark side. So the forces of evil will never confront the forces of good directly
Good and evil aren't self-aware entities to tempt people one way or the other. That's a very religious view. What you call evil is the way some people have of coping with the world. Nothing mystical about it.
Just think about it, I believe 70-80% of the human population is good in spirit, and have good intentions. Only 20% or even less of the people are evil
