Not always. Remember the case of Romania? In the 1980s, Nicolae Ceaușescu banned abortions and all forms of birth control and family planning. Some of the women performed abortions illegally. But most of them were unable to terminate their pregnancies. In a few years time, hundreds of thousands of unwanted babies were abandoned in the churches and railway stations of Romania.
Yeah abortion is far from easy.
Even with perfect medical condition, help from government, a developed society not too religious (so without a tremendous amount of social pressure to keep the baby) it's not an easy step to take.
So doing it illegaly? And by yourself??? Oo
No woman should have to deal with such a thing.
