I have a friend who did it. Ended up selling during the peak in 2015, didn't really understand the currency though, went for some "easy money" and got destroyed 
That's the problem bitcoin is facing, that people get panic very soon and they sell when the price fall down, and big fish takes the advantages of it, but I really feel sorry for those who bought at that high price and still holding it.
