Hi, you can choose to download two kind of software wallets for Bitcoin.
Alternatively you can choose cloud wallets such blockchain or similar but i won't advise them to anyone who wants to keep their coins safe.

Core Wallet and SPV wallet. I'll explain breifly which are the main difference between the two so you can understand which will fit better with your needings.

Core Wallet: is the original Bitcoin wallet maintained by Bitcoin Core team developers. The cons of this wallet is that it require to download the whole blockchain and sync to it to be working. This mean downloading about 30 gb of datas, and it could a little expensive in terms of time and storage for medium users.

SPV wallet: Those are "fast sync" wallets which do not require to download the entire blockchain but they connect to it everytime you open syncing to the last part of that to be able to operate.
those kind of wallet are preferred if you cannot allow to download the entire blockchain or you use Bitcoin sporadically.
