Everything can be used for illegal transactions. Probably USD in the form of cash is still the most used tool for illegal activities. I guess EUR is the second.

well im pretty sure they do care as bitcoin is pretty much untraceable and no one can find out who bought something illegal

besides that in my opinion bitcoin is used for doing illegal stuff really often though i guess that pushes the price a little bit

At least with the bitcoin we can trace where the money origins and where it goes. But with the gold or fiats you never can come to trace any single footage of it. I do not find any new support from bitcoin to the criminals.
