I have never thought that insurance is a way of saving money.

2)avoid unnecessary shopping
3)Avoid use of credit cards

Agree with you for credit cards as we use it to max limit find difficulty in settling that..also like to include few more:
Invest on gold/btc...
Invest on Estate business which will give huge profit...
deposit in bank and forget that you have it....
