I think bitcoin is fine as it is, as long as we find a solution to this blocksize cap soon.
There is no solution as far as the block size limit is concerned. Raising the block size X amount of times does nothing but postpone the 'problems' (as some claim).

Because something needs do be done about it.
Something is being done: Segwit, Lightning Network.

It's also the arrogance and stubbornness of bitcoin miners, thinking only of themselves (although that is what you would expect from a decentralised system)
What makes you say that?

We need to find the perfect balance of democracy and decentralization.
This is probably impossible due to how humans are.
