Sugar-coatings are detrimental.

1) It's a layer of bullshit that smart people have to decode and smart people shouldn't have to put up with that shit.
2) Dumb people need a thrashing; pain is an excellent teacher.
3) It divides the men from the boys. The listener can "be offended" or they can step up and stop being stupid. Observing this choice allows the smart people to see if the deciders have potential, or are wastes of oxygen.
