I believe what hawkfish007 is trying to say is double check your connection on the cubes.  It is easy to mis-align the connector so not all the pins are connected.  Make sure they are aligned correctly and fully seated.  I would add to double check the connections on the controller board also and make sure they are seated completely.   Usually it is the simple things that are the most common things to happen with stuff like this.
