What folder does one put the bootstrap.dat in?

Tried a few different folders in the Appdata/Roaming/Potcoin folder without luck.

If someone could give a detailed description of the procedure that would be great.

You need to drop it in the folder that has the wallet.dat and relaunch the qt.

First quit/exit the running wallet.
Second move/copy/whatever the bootstrap.dat into the potcoin folder under appdata.
Third launch the wallet again and it should indicate that its parsing the files from the disk, when thats finished which can take awhile depending on the speed of hdd and ram, etc it will start syncing from the network.

Alternatively you can grab the quick start pack I have up on amazon cloud. I have a batch file that will launch the qt and designate the local folder for the data so you can move it around and don't have to hunt through appdata nor worry about losing it if you need to reinstall windows.

Turns out it was already working as I had the bootstrap file in the right folder, but it was going so slow I thought it was getting the blocks from the network.
On my PC it's almost as slow as synching normally. Might try on another machine with a SSD drive to see if it goes faster.

Most of crypto suffers from slow syncing. What we need is someone with the knowledge and skill to put some time into tweaking the wallet and see what small improvements can be made. Reddcoin is moving reworking the codebase to be based on the latest bitcoin core, dopecoin has also been in touch 2ith @gnasher about it. Hopefully once RDD is fully refactored to the new base someone can do a soft fork of pot.

Another option you can consider is a VPS from amazon. They were and hopefully still are offering 1 yr free to new accounts. You can get a windows VPS that will likely be a bit faster than your local system and also not have to worry about leaving your system on or making sure the wallet is unlocked to stake.
