I did use the exact phrase that was given to me. But every time I get: "Welcome to your new BURST account."

Go through all steps (1) to (6) - and if only for next time.
Still I am convinced I am using the exact same passphrase that I literaly wrote down.
Idea: Try typing it into a text editor so you can see each letter you are typing.Then mark the whole phrase, and copy paste it into the login box. Perhaps that helps?
If not ... perhaps just let go, and book it under "learning".
