Nah, I think Satoshi knew exactly what he was creating. You don't just come up with a new form of currency unless you are really into monetary theory.
yes, i am being a bit inconsistent when i generalize to "geeks". i don't literally mean all geeks in deference to guys like smoothie. he gets it. and i do think Satoshi clearly knew what he was creating.
what i mean is that plenty of ppl describe Bitcoin as for "geeks" only. this clearly is not the case as not all geeks understand what's been created even though they can read code and understand a bit about economics.
