This is just an attempt to defend Gavin and try to make Core look evil.                                                                                Besides, even if we ignore everything, Gavin does not need to have commit access anymore. While I do not understand the exact 'process' which was used to determine the set of people who will have commit access, Gavin is no longer a part of them. People who have stopped contributing to the project should not retain access.
