Well, it also will be a nightmare for the current car industry, especially for the car parts suppliers. A lot of parts (especially for the engine) which are needed for conventional cars will get needless. This will cost a lot of jobs. Further, electric cars do not need to be repaired as often as conventional cars what cost jobs at autoshops. And it will cost jobs at petrol stations because there are no more operators needed.

electric operated cars/vehicles are not only a threat to oil industry. It will be their biggest nightmare and it will also help lessen pollution.

Electric car will destroy jobs, but will create others, for example i think that electric cars will need more software developers. Technology always destroy old jobs, but it creates new ones.
