Old version connections more and more every day. If you have new version it will be conversely.

Dunno. It does sound like it, but I find it hard to believe that presstab wouldn't be up to date. He's awful busy with school, but he's pretty hardcore about being prompt.

Might need more consistent checkpointing from the dev to prevent this... it also appears the values that have been changed can be changed manually and recompiled. It seems likely to me that someone actively manipulating the difficulty might be aware of this, essentially negating the 'fork'. Just a thought
The code of the old wallet can be changed so it connects to the new clients by anyone who has some skills.
Likewise the new wallet can be changed to any split and recombine value you like.
Anyone using the new wallet should be on the right chain.
Anyone using the old wallet with non mod code will end up on the wrong chain.
