Sounds interesting, especially e-mail notification would be very good addition.

I'm still new to Minera, trialling it and so far remote access to Minera web interface is good enough for me.
For that I use Weaved Personal at the moment hence no router config needed.

Not sure about what scope of control you are talking about.
For example I need to access my SP20's via web interface (for general stats and cgminer window) and also via ssh (for crontab changes)
Will your "new way" be able to do this?
