I'm glad you feel like a hero for pointing out the obvious, but that is an entirely different type of investment with a different level of risk.
He also likes to pretend like he knows what he is talking about... US inflation is not 3-5% buddy. In the past year, it was a whopping total of 0.9%. The year before that... 0.7%.
No, inflation was not 0.9% for the past year, just like the real unemployment figure is closer to 15% than it is to whatever the obama admin is claiming...5% or whatever.
Actual dollar inflation is substantially more than the propaganda figure put out based on CPI. We just got done 3 rounds of QE along with zero-interest rate; the dollar has been substantially devalued and it's most evident within the stock market, where share prices have skyrocketed while value and company fundamentals remain flat.
